Some analysts predict condo prices to rise because:
- limit in supply of resale & new inventory listings
- low interest rates
- Greenbelt surrounding GTA limits new housing construction (like Manhattan on an island)
- freehold houses are unafordable for first time buyers
- some condos are experiencing bidding wars
- condo developers charging $40,000 - $60,000 for 1 parking spot
- some new condos are not allowing buyers of studio and 1 bedroom condos to purchase parking unless some are remaining from purchases of larger units
- government wants developers to increase space for bicycles and extra storage
- condo selling prices have increased in Toronto over the year by 10%
- new condos averaging $700/sq ft
- many buyers now accepting idea of condo maintenance fees as maintenance costs of houses, especially older ones, are steadily increasing
